Das Heval Trio besteht aus Musikern, die aus Anatolien und Nahost über ganz unterschiedliche Wege nach Berlin gekommen und sich dort begegnet sind. Hogir Göregen bringt mit seinen schnellen Fingern die rythmische Vielfalt uralter Gesellschaften Anatoliens mit; Mikail Yakut fügt mit seinem virtuosen Spiel die Intensität des Akkordeons hinzu und Mevan Younes vertieft die Musik des Trios sowohl mit seinem Buzuq als auch mit seinen Kompositionen. “Heval” heißt auf kurdisch FreundIn, das sind auch die drei Musiker, die traditionelle Musik aus Osteuropa, Anatolien, Mesopotamien und Kaukasus in diesem Sinne interpretieren. So ist ihre Musik nicht nur von ihren Wurzeln geprägt sondern auch von der improvisierten Musik der modernen Zeiten. Deswegen findet man in der Musik vom Heval Trio Inspirationen vom Jazz, Blues und Neuer Musik gleichzeitig.

Heval Trio consists of musicians who are from various areas of Anatolia and the Middle East and have met in Berlin. Hogir Göregen brings the rhythmic variety of ancient peoples of Anatolia with his quick fingers; Mikail Yakut adds the intensity of the accordion with his virtuoso playing and Mevan Younes deepens the music of the trio with his Buzuq, as well as with his compositions. “Heval” means friend in kurdish. The three musicians understand each other in that way and interpret likewise the traditional music of Eastern Europe, Anatolia, Mesopotamia and Caucasus. Their music is not only influenced by their roots but also by the improvised music of modern times. That’s why the music of Heval Trio simultaneously inspired by jazz, blues and new music.
